Opportunities From: 15th St Farm

Our gardens are thriving and we need your help!  Join us for a few hours of basic gardening (weeding, planting, watering, harvesting) - our Farm Manager Austin and other volunteers will be happy to guide and assist. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen and wear closed toe shoes. Everyone is welcome, all ages (minors must have a parent on site)...many hands make light work!

Being a working farm with multiple small buildings, fences, enclosed areas, etc, we have a number of small carpentry jobs we could use help with. For example, our brick oven has a wood shed sitting right beside it. It's underway but we could use some help finishing it, and then keeping it filled. We have the kindling and scraps on site...you will work with our team doing light construction, sawing, bundling kindling, painting the walls, etc).  Also, we have 10 foldable wood tables we use for our events, and they need to be re-sanded periodically. You will always have a team member guiding your work. Bring gloves, water, a hat and sunscreen. Wear closed toe shoes.

Our gardens are flourishing and we want to keep the whole property neat and tidy. Our Farm Manager Austin will guide you as you join us for a few hours of general property maintenance - light work includes clean up and weeding; medium to heavy includes composting, mulching, clearing overgrown spaces. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen and wear closed toe shoes. Plenty of time to just sit and enjoy the garden vibe as well!

Join us for a one-hour immersive tour that begins with the history of 15th Street Farm and the regenerative farming practices that keep our soil, and our community, healthy. Learn how we care for the land to ensure every vegetable grown is as nutritious as it is delicious.

As we walk through the farm, you'll discover what’s currently growing, what's ready to harvest, and why soil health is at the heart of everything we do. Along the way, enjoy small bites and tastings straight from the field, because here, you don’t just learn about the farm, you taste it.

At the end of the tour browse the fresh produce bundles and various farm goodies available that day.

It’s a beautiful and relaxing way to connect with the land, support local farming, and experience the mission of 15th Street Farm firsthand.

We are an urban educational farm with all kinds of great programs - and we need some tech help, starting with basics like enhancing our existing website. We'll provide the content - you bring the skills for graphics, posting, creating archives, etc. You'll work with our Team IT person, and once you get started, your work time can be remote if you prefer, and flexible.

Each week, we have several events at the farm during which we need help preparing and selling our produce, and selling our value added products (things made with the produce). The Harvest Helpers will arrive early, harvest what is needed and prepare baskets based on pre-orders and orders as event guests arrive. You will be guided by one of our farm team members what and how much to harvest. You might also be asked to help with order payment using an app or QR code.

Even though we are a small-ish farm, we have a number of spaces on the property which need to be regularly maintained. We would love to have some help with this! Easy projects include keeping the farm neat and tidy with constant clean-up needs inside and outside our fences, minor repairs, removal of yard waste, etc. Nothing major but it all adds up to a well maintained farm. 

We are gearing up our educational programs to have several classes a week for all ages and interests. We need help marketing these which includes on social media and posting on our website Events calendar. The content will be provided - your task will be to post it, and to choose and also post images. Experience using all types of social media and Eventbrite will be especially helpful.
