Volunteer: 15th St Farm Disaster Resource Hub - Committee member

The 15th St Farm in downtown St Pete has developed a neighborhood-based “Disaster Resource Hub”, the initial phase of which was envisioned and drafted during 2025 based on our farm experiences following Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024. Now, here we are already in the middle of hurricane season but still thankfully under 'blue skies', and we are prepping our services and solidifying our network with partners and providers.

Our goal is to provide crisis readiness, disaster relief and resiliency tools for our immediate farm community, our neighborhood and the broader communities (residential and commercial) which surround us.

This opportunity involves serving on a leadership committee which will help design and implement our Hub Strategic Plan.  Each committee member will represent a different sector of our neighborhood and near-by business community. The time commitment will be about an hour a week during hurricane season and will involve on site or virtual work together with our farm admin and other team members. During activation in the event of a crisis, additional hours would be possible depending on your availability.

Your specific tasks will be to assist as requested in overall Hub planning; represent the Hub to your neighbors and help engage them as volunteers; gather and help organize resources.

Check out our other Disaster Hub related opportunities listed here as well. And please consider for each, especially under grey skies or activation during a crisis, what current weather & safety conditions are. Then too, look at your proximity to the farm - there might be volunteer opportunities in other parts of the city and county which are closer.
